My mommy group had a super fun cookie swap. I made Peppermint Brownie Bites. Just like my pumpkin ones HERE (oops never posted those??), but with the candy cane kiss inside and crushed candy canes on top. Man, they are yummy!
Peppermint Brownie Bites
1 box brownie mix
24 candy cane kisses
1 bag of melting chocolates
4 or 5 crushed candy canes
Bake brownies as the package directions say. Let cool a bit. Then smush and wrap a table spoon or so of brownie around a kiss and roll into a ball. Place ball on wax paper and freeze for 10 minutes. Melt chocolate melting chips in microwave as package says too... I add a table spoon of shortening to help thin it our. Carefully dip cold brownie balls into melted chocolate and place back on wax paper to set. These set pretty quick, so sprinkle crushed candy cane on top fast.
We had so many yummy cookies. I thought I would list a few and give you a link to the recipes. Well, what I am pretty sure is very close to the recipes! They were all very good and I wish I would have taken a picture of my cookie jar filled to the rim with such a variety of cookies.
- Andes Mint Cookies (my family liked these the best!)
- Christmas Surprise Cookies
- Mexican Spice
- Nieman Marcus Chocolate Chip cookies
- Vanishing Oatmeal Cookies
- Chocolate Crinkles (these were my favorite)
- White Chocolate Macadamia
I have hosted a cookie swap before and hope to host one next Christmas in our new house. And when I do I will be using these free downloads from Living Locurto. Please take a look at her beautiful and fun blog! Plus, when you sign up for her newsletter you get more free stuff!!
Let's get baking, girls!

Jane and I are invited to a Mommy and Me cookie exchange on Sunday and I think I might give your peppermint brownie bites a go... we'll see... I'm not much of a baker.
