For the Love of Bacon

I am not a bacon fan at all! It's a long college story that involves tequila... but after hearing the Hearty Boys go on about this bacon I thought I would try it and boy were they right. By the way if you like the Food Network set you DVR for the Hearty Boys show. They come on late at night and focus on dinner parties. I just love them, but I am guessing they don't get a lot of attention because they are an openly gay couple that run a catering business together. They really are fun to watch and have some great hostess ideas. It is so simple... Place your thick cut bacon strips on the grate of a roasting pan (they boys used a cookie sheet and parchment paper). Next sprinkle just a bit of light brown sugar on each piece and bake for 30 minutes in an 375' oven. For me I baked it awhile and then set the oven to a low broil and it cooked faster, but be careful because that brown sugar can burn and will make a lot of smoke. But let me just say this was the best bacon I have ever tasted! You have to try it!

  5. In fact, I've been known to eat a green bean if it's wrapped in bacon.

  6. I've made bacon like this too, from Rachel Ray actually. It's SO GOOD! I'm not a huge bacon fan either, but I love it like this. I'm going to have to check out the show you were talking about...I love shows about parties!
