Tis the Season to Look Cute!

As most for you know, I am a little stuck in the house these days. I just can't seem to justify taking my five week old out to grocery shop much less shop the fun stuff like the mall or the craft and fabric stores... so I had to use what I had to make the kids something cute to wear for the holidays! These are for Mike... once again my obsession for applique pays off! My husband hates the tie one-so guess what might be under the tree for him in a double X tall!-ha!
First, I had a thought of brilliance at our 3:00am feeding... why not try Microsoft clip art for patterns! Boy, I found lots of cute stuff... including this whimsical Santa. These buttons are from my great grandmother's stash. I used one of our old baby wash cloths for the beard. And Santa's face was from a baby hat, that never fit Mike's big head.
For Adelyn I made a shirt to go over a long sleeve onesie made like a pillowcase dress would be- it is so easy! They have great video tutorials on utube. Then made a yo-yo, added a button, and attached a clip that could go onto one of her headbands.
My very favorite part of this project was having Adelyn all snuggled up in my craft room snoozing away to the hum of the sewing machine. I am looking so forward to clearing off a spot for her to craft next to me someday!
Ps. Photo's posted soon of my cuties modeling their custom Christmas couture!

  1. I love the appliqued onesies! They turned out very cute. I love Adelyn's little outfit too. Which reminds me, I've got some Holiday pants to make.

  3. I deleted my previous post because of a typo - didn't know that it would show :) Anyway...I said that I loved how all the outfits looked and couldn't believe how innovative you were with the fabric! I would never think to grab a washcloth for Santa's beard. What a great idea. I can't wait for my machine to be fixed so I can try some of these ideas out!
