I made the easy and fun sticky note holders for my Literacy Coach team as a back to school gift. I am crazy for school supplies this time of year!
I simply covered a coaster from Chili's with cute scrapbook paper and inked the sides. Then added embellishments (ribbon, paper, flowers, and buttons) to a medium gator clip. Just clip the sticky note pad to the coaster and write a sweet note! Simple and cheap... ya gotta love that!

I just grab them off the table and put them in my purse as my husband rolls his eyes! The square ones are from Chilli's, but I just grabbed a few circle ones from One The Border... still thinking about something fun to make with those!

What does the back of the coaster look like? I'm trying to picture how you cover all of it and still make it look cute. I'd love to make these!!!
The back looks the same as the front. I just cut a square just large enough to cover it and the round the corners. I inked the edges to help the paper blend into the cardboard.
Kristy - saw this on dollar store crafts and loved it! However, I'm definitely NOT a scrapbooker... When you say you inked the edges, what color ink did you use and how did you do it? Thanks in advance!
I almost always ink with brown- for the aged look, but if there is black in the paper I would use black. To ink the edges you just scrap an ink pad on the side of the coaster and let hit the edges of the paper to help it blend in. Hope that helps!

Would it work to use just a piece of cardboard or matboard if you could not get coasters?
Do you finish off the coaster with modge-podge or something?
Any chipboard or firm card board would work. I did not modge-podge these...it world be cute if you wanted a shine to it or if it was going be handled a lot :)

These Reminds me of school age now i want to Send Gift Pakistan to my fallows.
I made mine from scrap matting board from Hobby Lobby. A package was about $3.00. I just cut them into 4x4 squares.
I couldn't find them at Chili's or Applebee's. I did find some at Outback but they are bigger then the one's pictured. Oh, well. They will be darling!

just made for the volunteers for PTA program--I didn't have the coasters but found $1 board books and Michaels and cut them apart and put paper on them. With the $1 post its at Target--really easy and cheap gift. Thanks!
