Summer Fun and Gift Ideas

We just went to the Texas coast

for the fist trip of the summer season.

We like to go to Rockport several times every summer,

not just because my parents,

Lala and Pops, live there,

but also because they have

the perfect bay beach for little ones.

 

No beach trip is made around here without

our hooded towels.

Mike is now 8, Adelyn is 5 and Molly is 19 months...

All three still love their towels!

 

Recently I was inspired to design

 a few new towels for friends...

Check out this one for my Lego lovers!

This is the perfect gift for the kid

 who has too many Legos,

but still wants Lego stuff for their birthday.

Yes, I speak from experience here!

I am so in love with this classy,

yet adorable Barbie inspired towel.

The bow embellishment really adds a special detail!

Here is one I made for a tween...

Well, this Harry Potter inspired towel was a hit!

She even let her mom share it on Face Book!

I saved the best for last...

our Mermaid towel.

My favorite part about this one,

well aside from the bow embellishment,

is that I can make her hair any color!

Yup, working on a little redhead next!

 

We just love these towels and take them to

the water park, swim lessons,

and they are even the first towel

my kids go to after a bath.

A special shout out to my models...

Adelyn was nervous about modeling the "boy towel"

for my Etsy photos...

I assured her I wouldn't show her face

 on the shop photos...

What in the world...

...have we been up to?

Mostly just delighting in these two!

Are they getting big or what?

 

Would you believe, we had 4 Valentine's Parties!

That was alot of candy and a lot of fun!

I got such a kick out of Mike writing each card to his friends-

It was very serious work.

 

 

I re-opened the Etsy shop and I am currently filling orders

 and coming up with new designs.

What a blessing this shop has been to our family!

We have also started trying out a little more

"home school" type stuff.

Unlike Mike at 3- Adelyn loves "working"

She knows all her letters, shapes, colors, numbers,

 and even most of the letter sounds.

 

The dentist knows our family really well this year...

we all had check ups.

Mike and I had to go back...

He had to get TWO teeth pulled because

new ones were already coming in.

Me? Ummmm.... I had a cavity.

 

Redoing Adelyn's room has turned into the project that never ends.

We are currently repainting EVERYTHING

and this Texas weather is not helping,

but on a high note-

my neighbors have been helping!

I can't wait for it to be finished- you will love it!

It is also time for a new Front Porch Kit!!!!

and I have been scrappin' away!

We have also been delighting in our church more...

I am teaching Sunday school and

it feels so good to put that hat on again!

Adam has been helping out in the garden and

has a pretty bad case of spring fever!

Tonight, Grandma is keeping the kiddos and

we get to go hear Joe McGee!

We are making it a date night!!

 

SO... I promise to blog more...

Mommy Therapy...

So, if you know me in real life then you know,

 I rarely spend money on myself...

I am a little bit cheap and would rather spend it family stuff.

However, with Mike starting kindergarten and so many good deals around...

I bought myself a few adorable "pick-me ups!"

  And they all came in the mail the same day...

When we checked the mail, both kids were excited

 to see what they got...

oops... these are all for mama!

 My sweet and very talented friend Erin opened up her Etsy store;

Kaminski's Creations...

and when I saw these tea towels... I HAD to have them!

Now I want to find a matching table cloth.

And no, we are not to really used these... just look at them...k?

Next up was a camera strap for my new camera.

While searching on Etsy, you would have thought

I was on the hunt for a car seat for my first born!

Then I found this beauty at

Two Little Lollipops

and I love it!  The workmanship is incredible,

the price was right AND it has two pockets not just one!!

Lastly, have you seen these EVERYWHERE?

Well, mine came from ebay for just $11 and free shipping!

They have lots of fun colors, too!

Now to find a cute top to wear with it!

 

All in all, I spent less than $50 on myself and girls, it feels good!

A little retail therapy goes a long way!

New Shop Designs

I have been thrilled to have my little etsy shop

 keep me so busy these days.

Even better a few new costumers have contacted me

with a few requests, that not only have been able to create,

but the results are adorable.

 First up, is a darling pink version of my flower bag!

 I was also contacted by a teacher who loved the bunting bag

but need a much bigger one! 

 I am gonna make one of these for myself!

 This one even has side pockets!

 It will hold a ton of crap... err, stuff. 

This would make a great mommy bag

or pool bag for the summer!

Lastly, my hooded towels now come in PURPLE!

Scrappy Hooded Towels

Woo... we have eight spring birthday parties to celebrate!

That's a lot of parting and a lot of gift buying!

I knew I wanted to go handmade,

(Lord knows none of these kiddos need more plastic crap!lol)

so I started making all our birthday friends

these cute hooded towels.

 

 They turned out so cute I am adding them to my shop!

 These are the colors so far...

 Mike gets a chocolate brown one

 and is all ready to swim now!

I am thinking we may need some for their bathroom.

The would look so cute on hooks, as part of the decor!

 I am making Adelyn a purple one,

but needed her to model the pink one for photos...

She loved it!  She even cried when I took it away!

Hmmm, just like a super model, eh?

 These towels are nice and big...

we will use them for summers to come!

 Here is the blue one.... pretty cute, huh?

Won't be nice with my scrappy bags!!

 I really, really like the grey one...

I used grey and red fabric for the name!

New Bag Design

I have an ADORABLE new bag in my shop!

I am just a little obsessed with bunting and banners...

and it screams spring... or summer!

Really it just makes me happy!

 Everything is hand appliqued and one of a kind!

 Wouldn't this be great for a special flower girl or
