Playdough Exchange & Playdate

Addy and I hosted a fun Play Dough exchange
and play date awhile back.
It was lots of fun!
I put out simple snacks, juice boxes
 and colorful bowls and napkins.

Each mom signed up to bring a different color play dough.
There were 8 kids, so we bagged up 8 balls of our color to trade.
Each kiddo got to take home 8 fun play dough colors...
what a life saver this was the rest of the week!

Here is the recipe I used from Living Well Spending Less.
I did not use glitter, but another mama did and the kids loved it!

Ingredients

1 cup of flour
1/4 cup of salt
2 teaspoons of cream of tartar
1 cup of warm water

1 tbsp. coconut oil (I used canola oil)
assorted glitter (optional)
assorted essential oils (I used almond extract-haha)

Throw it all in a pot and heat on low... it takes about ten minutes.
It will start to get firm and hard to stir.
Let it cool and ball it up.
So easy and this recipe will last a long time in an air tight container!

Aside from old kid scissors and cookie cutters,
this Melissa & Doug set is our very favorite.

Adelyn did get this as a gift and it has been fun too...
You get to push, pull, and grind up the play dough
to make fun ice cream shapes.
As you can see, it is very fascinating work!
This does requires a little more help from mom, but I like playing with it, too!
Check out my Amazon shop below for the details.

I had three tables set up for the play dough and it worked out great!
I do have wood laminate floors all down stairs, so clean up was a snap.
But this would also, be a fun outside or park play date.
We can't wait to host this one again!
