Inspired

This weekend I was once again inspired by Maryann from Domestically Speaking.
"If you have two coats, give one away," he said. "Do the same with your food." Luke 3:11
It has been so very cold here, and her post made me think about my junkie coat closet
and all those coats taking up space, keeping nobody warm this winter...

Ten coats to be exact!

Here is the closet before...
I am not sure what is more embarassing the mess of this closet
or the number of coats I have collect over the years that I never wear!
And the after looks and feels much better!
A church will come by next Thursday to
collect my 10 coats, 8 purses, and a dozen shoes.

  1. Great!! Nice to de-clutter and help someone else at the same time.

  2. Love it! I am in the process right now of going through clothes- ugghhh. But seriously, how do we even OWN so many clothes. It's disgusting!

  3. i cleaned my closets when we moved and gave at least 20 garbage bags of clothes to goodwill. i now make it a habit to go through closets at least twice a year and donate, donate, donate. it was embarassing to see the bags and bags of clothes i never wore. keep up the good work. believe it or not, it becomes addicting. ..weeding out stuff and passing it on to someone who really needs it. way to go!!

  4. Gail & I were just talking about this last night. People in need to keep warm. We have so much & they have so little. I have a bag ready to go with unused throws, blankets, etc.. It feels good to de-clutter & give to those in need. Very thoughtful. Luv ya

  5. I agree with everyone else - how wonderful to give to someone in need, and at the same time get a beautifully organized closet!
